''Be Your Own Author'' - DT layout with ***VIDEO TUTORIAL*** for Mixed Media Place Blog

Hello dear friends and welcome on the blog today!

I hope you and your families are healthy and strong. Today, I'm up on the Mixed Media Place blog with my latest layout and I have also prepared a step by step Video Tutorial. My layout is featuring the 7 Dots Studio ''Writer's Block'' collection and lots of Finnabair mixed media products.

You can watch my creative process in my video below!

For my background, I choose to use two papers the ''Inkwell'' and the ''Torn''. I made a layer with the second one on the bottom of the first and distressed all the edges. Just because I wanted to keep the background simple I didn't used many mixed media techniques. I only applied Finnabair Paper paste through the ''Ornate Lace'' stencil and then, I randomly stamped on the background using the ''Gothic Book'' stamp with a black archival ink.

Then, I painted all the resin elements and chipboard with Finnabair Patina Effect paste. When everything was dried I arranged them around my photo and made several layers with flowers and metal embellishments from Finnabair and Mitform Castings.

To finish the layout, I added glass beads and glitter with soft matte gel along with some glitter for more shine.

''You Matter To Me'' - DT layout for 49 and Market March Inspiration Part 2

Hello and welcome on the blog dear friends!
I hope you are doing well in this difficult situation we are all facing.

Today, I’m up on the blog to share my second project for this month. My layout is featuring the Vintage Remnants collection, the Dandelion Fields Laser Cut shapes along with several gorgeous flowers from the Blossom Blends and Stargazers sets.

I choose to work with the ”Paper No 5” and started by priming the paper with clear gesso. Just because I wanted to keep the background simple I didn’t use many mixed media techniques. I only applied some Finnabair icing paste in White Gold through a stencil and then, I randomly stamped on the background using stamps from the Pascale’s ”Rations Stamp” and ”1787” sets with black archival ink. Then, I used the Lindy’s Gang spray ”Mission Bells Brown” to add a little color.

I painted all the resin elements with Finnabair Impasto Paint in Dark Chocolate and then gently rubbed on them some Rose Gold wax. The Dusty Attic chipboards were first colored with Finnabair Rustic Brown acrylic paint and then were also rubbed with the same wax.

Next, I used some Blossom Blends and Stargazers flowers in Sandcastle and Lemon Drop tones and made several layers around my photo along with laser cut shapes, the resin elements, and the chipboard.

To finish the layout, I added mica flakes, glass beads along with some glitter for more shine.

''Love Your Smile'' - DT layout for 49 and Market March Inspiration Part 1

Hello 49 and Market friends and welcome back to the blog!

I hope this post finds you well. Today I’m up on the blog with a new layout featuring the “Bold and Beautiful” collection and it’s assorted Laser Cut shapes.

For my background, I used the “Love Shadows” paper and started by priming the paper with clear gesso. When it was dried, I added texture with Finnabair icing paste in Frosty Pearls. Continued with a randomly stamping with stamps from the “1787” Stamp. Then, I used Lindy’s Gang spray “Cotton Candy Pink” to add some color to the background.

All the resin elements were colored with Finnabair Sparks acrylic paints in Unicorn’s Hair, Fairy Wings, and Butterfly Spells. The chipboard from the “Treasure” Archival Board and the title from the Dusty Attic Mini Caption #11 was also painted with the White Pearl acrylic paint.

Next, I used some gorgeous flowers from the Seaside Blooms and Garden Seeds sets in Natural Blush and Sea Breeze tones and I made a fuzzy cutting on the ”Edge of Reason” paper. I arranged all the elements around my photo and made my composition with several layers using all of them.

To finish I added Wishing Bubbles in Limeade and Taffy and the last touch was made by adding art stones, glass beads along with glitter for more shine.
